NYC Gallery Show

Reflect, respond from a designer’s or artist’s point of view (not a tourist’s point of view) to your experience of NYC or the AIGA Conference. Think about and discover deeper meaning that can be suggested by the specific combination of images that you choose to show. That deeper meaning is storytelling

  • Storytelling
  • Compare/contrast as a means of telling a story or making a point
  • Metaphor as a means of telling a story or making a point

Any or all media or techniques are possible

Before semester ends Finalize your plans (personal design direction, type of images, how many, how much room is needed, any tech needs, location in the gallery, etc.)

Before semester endsKnow what kind of individual story you want to tell with your work

Before semester ends any printing needs to be completed

Be prepared to answer the following four questions about your experience in NYC that will be recorded for presentation in the show.:

  • What was your overall impression of the AIGA Conference in NYC?
  • What was your overall impression of NYC?
  • Has your impression of the professional design world changed since going to the conference? If so, How?
  • How has the experience changed or influenced what you now do as an artist or designer?

Plan to be on campus the Sunday before second semester begins (January 14) to install the show in the gallery.

Show Dates are January 16–February 16

Reception is Thursday, January 18th
