ASSIGNMENT
You are a designer who has been hired to redesign the look, format and functionality of 3 social media applications:
- TikTok
- UTUBE
- Threads
- SnapChat
- other
Your goal of your redesign is to retain the basic purpose of the original platform but to also address the following main concerns/needs:
- The need to increase reliability, believability, and truth to information that is presented as factual.
- The need to decrease, change or eliminate platform features that tend to be addictive to users.
- Would you pay a monthly/yearly subscription to use your favorite Social Media Apps if it meant they would be commercial/ad free?
Ask yourself design questions which will lead to solutions for these needs.
for example,
- “Are there additional features that would help?” i.e. a fact checker on posted info.
- “Can color psychology influence believability of information?” ie. Is blue more believable than red? or do those color indicate bias?
- Does the order or placement of information indicate a hierarchy of importance? i.e. Is what is placed at the top or left viewed as more important?
Start your layout in Adobe Illustrator.
set your custom screen size at 430 x 932 pixels

Design elements (assets) in Illustrator or Photoshop first.
